Lots to see and do in the Algarve
The Algarve always has plenty to see and do all year round for people of all ages and tastes, here are just a few things that are going on in 2007
• May sees the return of the International Algarve Fair at the Fatacil Showground in Lagoa. With over 120 culturally diverse stands you will find every sort of service and product from the finest companaies in Portugal. Also this year will be the Festival Rock n Roll featuring an Elvis show.
• The International Sand Sculpture Festival also begins in May. This Festival is held in the Algarve every year from May until September and is truly a sight to behold with fabulous mythologies recreated by the worlds best sand sculptors. Over 30 artists from 15 countries create this maginificent spectacle using 1,000's of trucks of sand and light projections on the sculptures bring them to life from 9pm to midnight. From the A22 (motorway) take the Algoz/Pera exit 8 and follow the signs. Well worth a visit!
• Pop star Nelly Furtado will be playing a live concert in Albufeira in July. The concert will be held at the Municipal stadium in Albufeira on July 27. Tickets available now.
• The inaugural Portugal Masters is to be staged at Vilamoura's Oceanico Victoria Golf Course from October 18th - 21st, 2007. This venue has been assured through to 2009 in an agreement between the Portuguese Tourism Authorities and the PGA European Tour. A host of Europe's best golfers will be taking part, including Ulster man, Darren Clarke, who is the Touring Professional for all 5 of Vilamoura's Oceanico Golf Courses.
